Direct Automatic Rail Transport (DART)
A futuristic city wide rail network of overhead and underground automated computer controlled cabs. DART cabs will go from any cab stop directly to any other cab stop. Small cabs max load of 8 passengers or 4 cyclists with their bikes or 2 or 3 wheelchairs. DART cab stops will have lifts to take passengers up or down to the waiting cab. These cab stops to be within a short walk of all housing and city destinations. Powered by linear electric motors, the cabs must be cheaper, faster and safer than cars and taxis, have no CO2 emissions, compliment other transport systems and not interfere with them. The objective is to bring cities into the 21st century and to bring cities back to life and life back into cities, before they are strangled by 20th century transport technology on its 19th century foundations. By stopping cars from entering the city or vastly reducing their numbers, traffic jams can be eliminated and pollution reduced.

Microwave Powered UV Lamps
A series of patents have been filed in relation to the technique of using microwaves to power light bulbs that emit germicidal UV light. Normal bulbs use filaments or electrodes and this limits their lifetimes and operating parameters. Microwave powered bulbs are electrodeless and do not degrade with age. They can be started, stopped and restarted instantly and even pulsed. Applications include disinfection of packaging, drinking water, laboratory items and air in air ducts. Five granted patents relate to feedback control systems for the microwave power units, methods of coupling microwave energy to the bulbs and ways of placing microwave cavities in airflows minimising resistance to the airflow.

Paddle Belt Marine Propulsion System
The Paddle Belt marine propulsion system produces a linear thrust in-line with the direction of travel, producing an order of magnitude higher level of water engagement than achieved by conventional screw propulsion. Craft controllability and surface water disturbance are greatly improved. Fitting to a Czerniak Ducted Craft improves the wake free characteristics further and allows the creation of specialised craft capable of extracting and off-loading floating oil spill contaminants. Suitably adapted and scaled, the paddle belt mechanism may also be used as a tidal energy extraction device, allowing higher levels of energy extraction than possible with conventional screw propeller designs of similar cross section. The Paddle Belt propulsion system has been tested with a Czerniak Ducted Craft model hull. Driven by a single motor it progressed at similar speed to the same hull with two propellers and two motors. An oil-spill recovery model has also been successfully tested. Construction of a tidal energy extraction model is underway. Patent Pending. Seeking investors, industrial partners or licensees to commercially exploit the product in all applications.

Shotgun Holster
Shotguns are carried either broken on the forearm or in the gun slip. The forearm leaves only one hand free, and the slip is not ready for immediate use. The holster is generally 'U' shaped allowing the broken gun to sit in the holster. Straps then carry the holster from the shoulder like a handbag would be carried. This allows the gun to be carried broken and ready for use with both hands free for controlling a dog or child, scoring, beating or just drinking tea. Prizewinner at 'Innovention 2006'. The Thomson Engine
Conventional diesel engines have the advantage of being very efficient, with the ability to operate on almost any oil, but the disadvantages of being heavy, expensive to manufacture, noisy in operation and unsuited for small applications (such as chainsaws) because of the problems of high pressures and unbalanced forces. This invention is not for a new engine, but comprises the enhancement of an old concept - the 'free piston engine' invented by Pescara in 1934. The free piston engine is a simple, perfectly balanced device, which has no crankshaft or flywheel and incorporates only a single cylinder with two opposed pistons. This offers several advantages: higher efficiency, lighter weight, cheaper manufacturing and quieter operation. However, its big drawback is that it is a reciprocating engine which does not produce rotary motion (its output power normally being in the form of a
gas or fluid). This new invention is for a mechanism that enables the free piston engine to be started and synchronised so as to produce rotational power. The Thomson Engine is a 'hybrid' that operates in conjunction with a motor-generator and as such, should be particularly suited to constant speed applications like electrical generators and light aircraft.

Tyre Blow-Out Preventor
It is currently almost impossible for LGV or PSV drivers to detect a puncture from the cabs of their commercial multi-hubbed trucks, resulting in high-speed blow-outs and subsequent tyre delamination (which in turn destroys mudguards etc and scatters hazardous debris across roads and motorways). By alerting truck-drivers to the onset of a puncture and enabling them to park their vehicle safely for repair, this blow-out preventor cuts downtime and repair costs whilst also reducing the possibility of motorway accidents and subsequent congestion. Patent pending. Seeking partners for prototype development. Technology available for licence.

Uni-Lok Pipe Connectors
The Uni-Lok system is a novel 'hermaphroditic' fluid coupling, ie having identical mating fittings. Demonstration prototypes with 10mm bores have been produced using the same interlocking main feature, but with different hand operated locking actions. One is a straight push-pull make and break action and the other is a ¼ twist push-pull make and break. Both use lockrings to complete the connection. The simple design consists of only three different parts.
The benefits are user friendly, elimination of hose end confusion, reduced inventories, cost effective, robust and lightweight. Potential applications include medical equipment for body fluids and respiratory hose connections, beverage conveyance hose connections (milk, beer, etc.), fire and environmental water hoses, vehicle water hoses, land, marine, aeronautical; industrial hydraulic/pneumatic hose connections, domestic vacuum/dust extraction hose systems, etc. Patent pending, seeking partners for manufacture and marketing the couplings.

Unpowered RFID Industrial Sensing Technology
Jenton International has developed an RFID sensor technology which will revolutionise the way in which permanently fixed sensors such as temperature probes can be measured. The user simply passes the special reader close to a sensor at which point the sensor is inductively powered using radio frequency (RF), so no batteries or power supply are required. The sensor identity (ID) and reading is transmitted back to the reader. This allows other data such as location to be logged along with reading. Prizewinner at 'Innovention 2006'. Seeking potential licensees for this unique technology.

Six coloured LEDs in the base illuminate the water vortex and the control button, alternating between red, blue and green or remaining fixed on one colour. Swirling patterns of light are reflected onto ceilings. This product is primarily aimed at the novelty lighting/gift market, and can also be used as an educational aid for schools, museums etc. Patent pending, registered design and trademark. Zebaid
Zebaid is designed to assist in the erection of small temporary garden gazebos, which tend to fall apart during assembly. Zebaid consists of simple tensioning devices affixed to the corners of square gazebos or corners and centres of rectangular versions, before the attachment of the apex sections. The system is so effective that just one person can easily construct a gazebo. During tests, it has been found that the whole structure, before the addition of the canopy, can be carefully moved to a new location without disintegration. Zebaid is available direct from the inventor.
