Peter Hebard - Chairman
Peter offers his services to members as a mentor and is working to raise the profile of the WRTI and members' inventions with investors and government. A Chartered Engineer, FIMechE, ex CEO, Business Development & Technical Director of a number of technology-led Defence, Automotive, Process and Software companies, he has led the development and provided a route to market for 27 start-up products/businesses. He has since turned the fortunes of several more companies as a Turnaround Manager but is happy to help members get it right first time.
Richard Little - Vice Chairman
Richard is a director of Jenton International and C-Cubed Limited, both winners of SMART awards for innovation. Richard is inventor/co-inventor of a number of patents granted in the field of microwave energised UV systems and his inventions have been licenced to Body Shop plc, Nimbus Records and several other firms in the optics field. Richard is a founder Member of WRTI and very aware of the issues that inventors face in launching ideas. He is keen to help improve the chances for inventors to commercialise their ideas.
Mike Overy - Secretary and webmaster
Mike handles the club's general enquiries and day to day business. He also created and maintains the WRTI website which has become one of the leading sites for inventors and now receives thousands of page views per month. Mike is a wireless consultant, inventor and entrepreneur, specialising in wireless positioning systems: GPS, 802.11, Bluetooth, UWB etc. He has several mobile phone and wireless positioning patents granted/pending.
Mike Wright - Treasurer
Mike is responsible for the club accounts and handles all the payments in/out. He was formerly a sapper in the Royal Engineers and then a 'trials engineer' at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough. He now acts as a consultant and constructor of 'proof of principle' bits and pieces, primarily electronic and has a patent pending.
Professor Richard Penson - Membership Secretary
Richard handles the club's membership enquiries, new memberships, renewals and liaison with the University and Inventors Academy. Richard was formerly Head of Manufacturing Engineering and more recently Associate Dean, External Development in the Faculty of Technology at Southampton Solent University. He continues to teach part-time at the University in his specialist subject of control systems and related mathematics and also with his main research topic of medical signal processing.
Frank Landamore - Editor
A freelance designer, editor and PR journalist, Frank is the editor of Inventique, WRTI's free monthly newsletter, which has grown from a closed readership of members only to a 2,000-strong international circulation. He is now marketing his invention the 'Grass Snake' cable grip (developed with the aid of a DTI SMART Grant). An invention for the personal health market is being assessed by the NHS Innovation Hub.
Ian Moore - Committee Member
Ian has many years experience in the field of inventing and has particular expertise of Intellectual Property.
